US 78 (Over Edisto River)

United Contractors is replacing the US 78 bridge over Edisto River near Branchville, SC. This project consists of replacing the main bridge over the Edisto River and two over overflows. The two overflow bridges are 240′ flat slab on concrete piles and the main bridge is 1200′ Bulb Tee Girder River Bridge on drilled shafts. Construction of these bridges began in February of 2010 and is on schedule to be completed in August of 2012.
